Exhibition of Exceptional Works. Leon Tutundjian

 Tutundjian was one of the founders of tachisme and Concrete art movement and their manifests.
Being one of the founders of the Union of surrealists in Paris he is considered as an eminent representative of the Surrealist movement. Since 1925 the artworks of Tutundjian have been exhibited in different renowned galleries in Europe beside many world famous artists. In 1933 he participated in the exhibition at the Pierre Colle Gallery in Paris with Picasso, Dali, Breton, Miro, Magritte, Giacometti and others.
The well-known painting “Yellow Mask” by Tutundjian is one of the best works of the painter who survived the Genocide. It was exhibited in 1988 in the State Tretyakov Gallery by the “Garik Basmadjian” private gallery. Exhibited graphic works are exclusive artworks of tachisme, abstract and surrealist art of the 1920-60’s.
The exhibition is dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

1905 – born in Amasia (Western Armenia) and became an orphan during the Armenian Genocide
1925 – his first personal exhibition in the "Ney" Gallery in Paris
1926 – organized an exhibition at the Gallery of Surrealists
1927 – opened his own studio
1929 – became one of the founders of the Union of the Surrealists in
Paris. He participated in "The Abstract Art" exhibition with Picasso, Miro,
Villon and others in Amsterdam
1931 – became one of the founders of "Abstraction–Creation" group
1931-66 – participated in many personal and group exhibitions in Europe
