Curator of the exhibition:
Margarita Khachatryan
The temporary exhibition “Breathing Papers,” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of one of the key figures of Armenian graphic art in the second half of the 20th century – artist Henrik Mamyan.
The exhibition “Breathing Papers” brings together the most expressive examples of the artist’s creative legacy, including book illustrations, drawings, and monumental works on religious themes, sourced from the National Gallery of Armenia, the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the Avetik Isahakyan House-Museum, and the family’s private collection.
Organized across four halls, the exhibition reflects the chronological development of Henrik Mamyan’s book graphics and offers an opportunity to view his graphic heritage not only as a remarkable example of illustration, but also as an expression of independent artistic thought and a cultural document.
