The Armenian Graphics of the 20th Century. Nerses Melikyan’s Donation

On the 12th of December, 2014, at 14:00, the National Gallery of Armenia will host the exhibition titled “The Armenian Graphics in the 50-60s of the 20th Century. Donation”. The exhibition includes 53 graphic works of prominent Armenian authors from Nerses Melikyan’s private collection. The collection includes artworks painted with watercolour, gouache, charcoal, felt-tip pen, pencil and tempera, and valuable samples of printing graphics – linocuts and etchings. The theme of the exhibited artworks touches upon a quite wide span of genres, such as traveling graphics, national and historical motifs and book illustration and design, and etc.
The core pieces of the exhibition are the graphic works of Mher Abeghian, Aram Zakaryan, Vladimir Ayvazyan, Grigor Aghasyan, Anzhela Sargsyan and Eduard Sargsyan. Most of the artworks are being exhibited for the first time.
